A.I.E.E. Revised Report on Standard Definitions and Symbols

Abstract

The definitions assembled in this revised Report have been taken largely from the latest approved sections of the A. I. E. E. Standards. In some cases several similar definitions are listed, these differing from each other in varying degrees. It was deemed desirable to again call attention to these inconsistencies in this way in order to expedite the work of standardization of the definitions. Many definitions are now included which were not in the August 1927 edition, as they been taken from Sections of the Standards approved since that time. Scope

The definitions given in this pamphlet represent all the definitions appearing in the approved A. I. E. E. Standards. There is listed also a number of definitions approved by the A. I. E. E. but not appearing in any specific section of the Standards. Such definitions are in every case preceded by the dates 1922 or 1925 according to the year of their approval. Certain of the definitions in the complete listing have in addition to t h e Institute's approval, received the approval of the American Standards Association and are, therefore American Standards.
