IEEE Guide for Hydropower Energy Internet of Things

Abstract

The system architecture, standard coding, technical requirements, and typical application scenarios for Hydropower Energy Internet of Things (IoT) are specified in this guide. This guide is applicable to hydropower stations, various design institutes, manufacturers, and business partners, and provides guiding recommendations for the design and construction of the Hydropower Energy IoT.

Scope

This guide defines a cloud-edge collaboration architecture for the Hydropower Energy Internet of Things. (HE-IoT) and a set of advanced applications based on the defined architecture. The cloud-edge collaboration architecture includes data collection from hydropower stations, edge computing technology, and a reference architecture for the Internet of Things (IoT ) platform. The deployment requirements of a micro-service application layer are specified, as well as the interface and access requirements of each process. Advanced applications based on cloud services, such as centralized monitoring, cross basin optimal dispatching, equipment operation and maintenance, remote intelligent operation and maintenance, optimal scheduling, and a virtual power plant are described. This guide uses the IEEE Std 2413™ standard architecture framework of IoT.

Purpose

The guide has three main purposes:--Define the cloud edge collaborative system of the HE-IoT, promote the interconnection of hydropower station data, and create data value.--Promote knowledge reuse and data empowerment in the hydropower industry with the hydropower operation center.--Support the application of multi-energy complementarity, energy big data and virtual power plant, with the extensive connection of hydropower, and energy Internet of Things.
