Process Management System

In this paper a novel concept towards process management is suggested. Mathematical modelling and simulation techniques have been used to understand the process. Simulation is also used in closed loop controls as in case of self tuning regulator. As simulation gives better insight into the process, it is extremely useful in the design and tuning of control systems. In many cases instrument failures and/or cable faults cause plant shutdown. A parallel case of plant and simulator enables the operator to conduct optimisation study and control loop tuning. Simulated model of process would be working as a hot standby process. The model takes process parameters through the same data highway which is used by process control computer. Al techniques can be used where online testing of new control techniques can be performed on simulator and parameters can be passed on to process control computer.
