Design and parametric study of ultra wideband PIFA Antenna

A compact and low profile coaxial probe fed PIFA (Planar Inverted F-Antenna) is proposed. The antenna works in frequency range 3.0 to 12.7 GHz which includes Ultra wide band frequency range (3.1-10.6 GHz). Novelty of this proposed antenna is that it has percentage impedance bandwidth of 121.51%. A parametric study of key geometrical parameters which affects the electrical performance of antenna is done. The structure is fabricated and measured. It was observed that variation between simulated & measured result are within acceptable limit.
