Biography

Wasim Ahmad (S’06–M’12) received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Surrey, U.K., in 2011, with a research focus on machine learning, and sound modelling for interactive and multimedia applications. From 2011 to 2015, he was a Lecturer at the School of Engineering, University of Hull, U.K., and at the International Study Centre, University of Surrey. He is currently a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in signal processing and machine learning at the School of Engineering, University of Glasgow, U.K. Since 2016, he has been a member of the Communication, Sensing and Imaging Group, University of Glasgow, where his research interests span applications of machine learning and data analytics in sound modeling, speech profiling, self-organizing networks, healthcare, nano-sensors and nano-networks, activity and gesture recognition for human–computer interface, and sign language.
