Biography

Gonzalo Abad (M'07) was born in Bergara, Spain, on October 11, 1976. He received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Mondragon, Mondragon, Spain, in 2000, the M.Sc. degree in advanced control from the University of Manchester, Manchester, U.K., in 2001, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Mondragon, in 2008.
He joined the Electronics Department of the Uni692 versity of Mondragon in 2001 and is currently an 693 Associate Professor. He teaches courses in power 694 electronics, power converters, control, and robotics. He has published several 695 papers in the areas of wind power generation, multilevel power converters, and 696 direct torque control of ac drives. He has participated in different industrial 697 projects related to these fields. His main research interests include renewable 698 energies, power conversion, and motor drives.
