Biography

Fairuz Abdullah (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Eng. degree in electronics from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Malaysia, in 2001, the M.Sc. degree in network and communication engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia, in 2004, and the Ph.D. degree in fiber laser sensors from UNITEN, in 2012. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, College of Engineering, UNITEN. His research interests include optical communications, fiber lasers, optical amplifiers, and fiber optic sensors. To date, he has published more than 100 journals and conference papers. He has also been an active member of IEEE Photonic Society.
