Biography
Benjamin P. Abbott (SM’83) was born in North Hampton, MA, USA, in 1962. He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Central Florida, Orlando, FL, USA, in 1986 and 1989, respectively.
From 1996 to 2001, he was with Sawtek, Inc. In 2001, TriQuint Semiconductor and Sawtek completed a successful merger. In 2015, TriQuint subsequently merged with RFMD to form Qorvo. He has been with Qorvo, Apopka, FL, USA, since then. His technical contributions have focused on the analysis and design of resonant SAW devices. He holds 21 U.S. patents, and has authored numerous publications. His current research interests include temperature compensation and loss reduction of RF SAW filters.
Dr. Abbott served the IEEE as a member of the UFFC Technical Program Committee and a Local Chair of the IEEE 2011 International Ultrasonics Symposium.
