Biography

Antonio Abelem (Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in 2003. He is a Full Professor with the Computer Science Faculty, Federal University of Pará, Belém, Brazil. He coordinates the Research Laboratory in Computer Network and Multimedia Communication (GERCOM) from which participates and coordinates several national and international projects. In 2020, he was Visiting Professor with the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA, USA, where he carried out research on quantum networks. His research is focused on future Internet, software-defined networking, network function virtualization, Internet of Things, performance analysis, and network security. He is an Associate Member and a member of the Board of the Brazilian Computer Society. He is a TPC member and a reviewer of national and international conferences and journals.
