Biography
Wail A. Mousa received two B.Sc. degrees (Hons.) in electrical engineering and mathematical sciences, the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and the Ph.D. degree in electronics and electrical engineering from the University of Leeds, Leeds, U.K. He was the first Saudian to be sponsored by the Schlumberger Dhahran Carbonate Research, Dhahran Techno-Valley, Dhahran, for his Ph.D. study. He is currently an Associate Professor in electrical engineering with KFUPM. He has published over 36 publications and conference proceedings, issued two patents, and holds a few pending patents. He has authored or coauthored several books and many published articles. His current research interest includes digital signal processing and its application in geophysics, with a particular emphasis on seismic data processing. Dr. Mousa is a member of many international and local professional organizations. He received many awards, including a letter of distinction from the Chief Executive Officer of Schlumberger, in 2008, for his technical contributions to the company. In 2006, he represented Saudi Arabia in the inaugural World Petroleum Council—Youth Committee (WPC-YC) and served as the Chair for WPC-YC, for three years. In 2013, he attended the Harvard University’s Management Development Program.
