Biography

Mohammed F. A. Ahmed received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in communication engineering from Assiut University, Assiut, Egypt, in 2001 and 2004, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in communications engineering from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada, in 2011. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia. From 2012 to 2014, he was with École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS), Montreal, QC, Canada. He joined NSERC/Ultra Electronics TCS Industrial Research Chair, ÉTS, in 2017, and the Resilient Machine Learning Institute (ReMI), in 2019. In both positions, his research and development focus was on ML models/algorithms for critical communications systems. Currently, he is with the Canadian National Railway (CN) as an Expert Data Developer.
