Biography
Modesto Amundarain was born in Plentzia, Basque Country, Spain, in 1964. He received the B.S.I.E. degree in electrical engineering, the M.Sc. degree in electronic engineering, and the Ph.D. degree in communications, electronics and control from the University of the Basque Country, Bilbao, Spain.
Since 1999, he has been an Associate Professor of Systems and Control Engineering with the University of the Basque Country, Bilbao. His main research interest area is the applied control of dynamic systems, particularly induction machines and power converters, and its application to nuclear fusion processes and renewable energy systems, particularly to wave power generation plants. He has more than 25 papers published in the main international conferences of the automatic control area, book chapters, and JCR (ISI)-indexed journals and has served as a reviewer for several international indexed journals and conferences.
