Biography
Salmiah Ahmad (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Eng. degree in mechatronics engineering from International Islamic University Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, in 2001, the M.Eng.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Curtin University of Technology, Australia, in 2004, and the Ph.D. degree in automatic control and systems engineering from The University of Sheffield, in 2010. She started her career as a Project Engineer at Toyo Engineering and Construction (M) Sdn. Bhd. In 2012, she has been appointed as a Panel for Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC), to evaluate degree program in mechatronics and its related fields at universities in Malaysia. She is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, International Islamic University Malaysia. Her current research interests include electric vehicle, intelligent systems and control, mobile robot, rehabilitation and bio-signals, instrumentation, and signal processing. She is a member of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), a Graduate Member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), and a Life Member of the Malaysian Society of Engineering and Technology (MySET) and PERINTIS (Muslim Scientist Organization of Malaysia). She is also a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), in 2016, and a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.).
