Biography
Sofiène Affes (M'94–SM'04) received the Diplôme d'Ingénieur and Ph.D. degree in telecommunications (with honors) from the École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST), Paris, France, in 1992 and 1995, respectively.
He is currently an Associate Professor with Institut National de Recherche Scientifique–Énergie Matériaux et Télécommunications (INRS-EMT), Montréal, QC, Canada. He currently holds a Canada Research Chair in High-Speed Wireless Communications. He recently served as a general co-chair of the IEEE VTC'2006- Fall, Montreal, Canada. His research interests are in wireless communications, code division multiple access (CDMA)/multicarrier CDMA (MC-CDMA)/orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), statistical signal and array processing, adaptive space-time processing, and multiple input multiple output (MIMO).
