Biography

El Hassan Abdelwahed received the Ph.D. degree in computer science and robotics from the University of Montpellier II, France, in 1991, and the Doctorat d’Etat degree in computer science from Cadi Ayyad University, Morocco in 2007. Before joining the university, he began his career in industry within a project to develop a distributed real-time system for the control and supervision of mining production units with the Managem Group, Morocco. Since 1994, he has been a Full Professor of computer science with Cadi Ayyad University, Morocco. He was the Head of the Department of Computer Science, from 2005 to 2009, and the Director of the Computer Systems Engineering Laboratory (LISI), since 2015. He was in charge of different computer science modules in bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He also actively contributed to the implementation of scientific and academic cooperation projects with various international universities and national companies. He actively contributes to the promotion of research in Morocco, where he directs several doctorates, students, and organizes conferences and workshops. He is the author and co-author of peer-reviewed scientific publications related to his research interests. His research interests include data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, contextual systems, recommendation systems, and their applications (industry, education, and green technologies). He has served as the program chair and the program committee member for international conferences and workshops.
