Biography
Bhargab B. Bhattacharya (Fellow, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree in physics from Presidency College, Kolkata, India, in 1971, and the B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees in radiophysics and electronics, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India, in 1974, 1976, and 1986, respectively.
He is currently serving as a Distinguished Visiting Professor of Computer Science and Engineering with the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Kharagpur, India. Prior to that, he had been with the Faculty of the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India for over 35 years. His research interest includes digital logic testing, and electronic design automation for integrated circuits and microfluidic biochips. He has published more than 400 technical papers and he holds ten U.S. Patents.
Mr. Bhattacharya is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering and the National Academy of Sciences (India).
