Biography
Tony Carreira P.Eng. received his B.A.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada in 1978. He then joined Ontario Hydro in Canada where held engineering and management positions until 1990. He left Hydro to join K-LINE INSULATORS LIMTED as president where he continues in that role. He has an extensive background in the design, production and application of outdoor polymer insulators. He has been involved and has also consulted in the areas of transmission and distribution line design, maintenance, construction and research. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario, CIGRE, CSA, CIGELE and a Senior Member of IEEE. He has been chairperson and/or member of various committees in each of these and other organizations. He has authored or coauthored various papers and has presented technical papers at ICOLIM, IEEE, CSA, EEA, ENA, CARILEC and INMR.
