Biography
S. Conti (S'97–M'01) received the Five-Years Second Level Degree with honors and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Catania, Catania, Italy, in 1997 and 2001, respectively.
She became a professional engineer at the University of Catania in 1997. In December 2002, she joined the Department of Electrical, Electronics and Systems Engineering, University of Catania, as a Researcher/Assistant Professor in Power Systems. At present, she is Aggregate Professor of Power Systems Dynamics and Control at the Department of Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering in the same university. Her research interests include power systems reliability, control and protection; integration of DG with distribution networks and SmartGrids; autonomous and non-autonomous operation of micro-grids; and optimization techniques applied to electrical power systems.
