Biography
S. S. Dessouky was born in Dakahlie, Egypt, in 1946. He received the B.Sc. degree and M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Suez Canal University and Helwan University, in 1970 and 1977, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from TU, Dresden, Germany, in 1982. From October 1970 to 1975, he was with the Faculty of Engineering, Suez Canal University, as Demonstrator. He was a Demonstrator with the Faculty of Engineering, Helwan University, from 1975 and 1977. In 1977, he was a Lecturer Assistant with the Electrical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Suez Canal University. From 1983 to 1987, he was an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) with the Electrical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Suez Canal University, Port Said Campus, where he was promoted as Associate Professor, in 1987. In 1991, he became a Full Professor of electrical power and H.V. engineering. He was the Department Chair, the Vice Dean for Community Affairs and Environment, and the Director of the Engineering Research Center for Developing and Technological Planning, Suez Canal University.
