Biography
Sawsan Abdul-Majid was born in Basra, Iraq. He received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Basra University, Basra, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Varna University, Varna, Bulgaria, in 1984 and 1992, respectively. Since 2008, she has been a Research Associate/Group Manager with the Center for Research in Photonics, University of Ottawa, Ottawa, ON, Canada.
Dr. Abdul-Majid's research focus is in the field of silicon photonics photonics, small size silicon-on-insulator, planar light wave circuit, phase array switches, and implemented on photonic integrated circuits.
