Biography
Suraya Masrom received the bachelor’s degree in computer science from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), in 1996, the master’s degree in computer science from Universiti Putra Malaysia, in 2001, and the Ph.D. degree in information technology and quantitative science from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), in 2015. She started her career in the information technology industry as an Associate Network Engineer at Ramgate Systems Sdn. Bhd. (a subsidiary of DRB-HICOM), in June 1996, after receiving the bachelor’s degree. She was a Lecturer with UTM, after receiving the master’s degree. She was transferred to Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Seri Iskandar, Perak, Malaysia, in 2004. She is an active researcher in meta-heuristic search, machine learning, and educational technology.
