Biography
Hussein Ahmad (M'05) was born in Mersing, Johor, Malaysia. He obtained his B.Sc (Hons) and M.Sc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland, UK in 1977 and 1981, respectively and subsequently obtained his PhD degree in high voltage engineering from University of Manchester (formerly UMIST) in 1986. Currently, he is a professor in the faculty of Electrical Engineering, and the Director, Institute of High Voltage & High Current (IVAT), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. His research interests include lightning protection, grounding system, low voltage protection, and insulation performance.
