Biography

Jean-Baptiste Begueret (M'99) received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Bordeaux, Bordeaux, France, in 1990 and 1996, respectively.
From 1997 to 2006, he was an Associate Professor with IXL Laboratory, University of Bordeaux, Bordeaux, France, where he was in charge of the High-Speed Mixed IC activities. From 2005 to 2010, he was leading the “IC Design Team”. In 2006, he became a Full Professor within the IMS Laboratory, University of Bordeaux. Since 2010, he has been the head of the “Design Group” (50 full and associated professors, and Ph.D. students) which includes three design teams working on digital to mmW activities. His technical interests and expertise are in the field of silicon ICs design for analog, RF, mmW and high-speed data link applications. He has published more than 200 scientific papers and patents, and has contributed to numerous conference presentations.
Prof. Begueret was the recipient of three Best Paper Award nominations at IEEE conferences (AMPC 2002, NEWCAS 2009, and SBCCI 2009) and has been a member of the several technical and executive/steering program committees, including the Custom Integrated Circuit Conference (CICC), Bipolar/BiCMOS Circuits and Technology Meeting (BCTM), European Solid-State Circuits Conference (ESSCIRC) and Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits Symposium (RFIC). He has served as chair of the technical program committees for numerous IEEE conferences (such as ICECS in 2006 and 2011, ESSCIRC in 2012, BCTM in 2014), general chair of PRIME in 2007 and organizing chair of BCTM in 2013.
