Biography
Mazen Abdel-salam In 1973, he joined the faculty of Electrical Engineering at Assiut University, Egypt as an Assistant Professor, and in October 1977, he became an Associate Professor. During the academic years of 1977 to 1979, he was an Alexander-Von-Humboldt Fellow in the Electrical Engineering Department, Technical University of Munich, Germany, and the Electrical Engineering Department, University of Liverpool, England. In September 1979, he began work as a Researcher with General electric Comnany. Pittsfield. MA. USA.
In January 1982, he rejoined Assiut University as a Professor of Electrical Power Engineering. Since this time, he joined more than 10 universities as a Professor.
He has been elected Fellow of IEEE, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, in 1992, New York, USA, Fellow of IEE, Institution of Electrical Engineers, in 1992, London, England, United Kingdom and Alexander-von-Humboldt Fellow in 1977, Bonn, West, Germany, Fellow of IOP, Institute of Physics in 2002, Bristol, U.K., Fellow of JSPS, Japanese Society for Promotion of Science, Tokyo, Japan in 1996. He is also a member of the Electrostatics Processes Committee, IEEE Industrial Applications Society.
