Biography

Omran Abbas (Graduate Student Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Higher Institute for Applied Sciences and Technology (HIAST), Syria, in 2018, and the M.A.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from The University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada, in 2021, where he is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering. From 2018 to 2021, he was a Research Assistant with HIAST. From 2020 to 2021, he was a Research Intern with the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). His research interests include wireless communications, information theory, applied electromagnetics, and active frequency-selective surfaces.
