Biography
Osama Abboud received the Ph.D. degree in computer science and electrical engineering from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Darmstadt, Germany, in 2012.
He is currently a Senior Researcher with the Advanced Wireless Technologies Lab within Huawei's Munich Research Center, Germany. He is responsible for conducting research on next generation network technologies with focus on novel distributed architectures and mechanisms to realize compute-centric networks and systems. He has more than 12 years of experience in distributed networks, edge computing, as well as Content Distribution Networking systems. Osama has had academic experience working with various national (BMBF-GLAB, BMBF-VirtuRAMA) and international projects (ICT-SmoothIT, ICT-5GEX, ICT-5GVinni). He has extensive industrial experience working at Akamai Technologies from 2013 till 2017 within the CDN area. He is the author of several prominent academic papers, prototypes, as well as patents in the mentioned research areas..
