Biography
Raul C. Almeida, Jr. received the B.Sc. degree in electronics engineering from the Federal University of Pernambuco in 1999, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from UNICAMP in 2001 and 2004, respectively. From 2006 to 2011, he was with the University of Essex, U.K., as a Senior Research Officer. In 2012, he joined the Photonics Group, Department of Electronics and Systems, UFPE, Recife, Brazil, where is currently an Adjunct Professor. He has experience in electrical engineering, focusing on telecommunication systems. His main research interests include optical networks, traffic engineering, analytical modeling, evolutionary computation, and future Internet and telecommunication networks optimization and projects.
