Biography

Hans-Guenter Eckel (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Erlangen–Nuremberg, Erlangen, Germany, in 1997.
He is currently a Professor of Power Electronics and Electrical Drives with the University of Rostock, Rostock, Germany. His current research interests include the application and the device physics of high-voltage power semiconductors and inverter technology for drives and energy conversion.
