Biography
Karim Abed-Meraim (SM'04) was born in 1967. He received the State Engineering Degree from École Polytechnique, Paris, France, in 1990, the State Engineering Degree from École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST), Paris, France, in 1992, the M. Sc. degree from Paris XI University, Orsay, France, in 1992, and the Ph.D. degree from ENST, Paris, France, in 1995 (in the field of signal processing and communications).
From 1995 to 1998, he has been a research staff member at the Electrical Engineering Department of the University of Melbourne, Australia. In November 1998, he joined the Signal and Image Processing Department of ENST, Paris, France, as an Associate Professor. In September 2007, he joined the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the University of Sharjah, Sharjah, UAE. His research interests are in signal processing theory and signal processing for communications and include system identification, blind source separation, multiuser detection, space–time coding, adaptive filtering and tracking, array processing, and performance analysis. He has more that 300 scientific publications in the fields of signal processing and communication.
Dr. Abed-Meraim is a member of EURASIP and has served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing.
