Biography
Hossam A. Abdel Fattah (Senior Member, IEEE) was born in Giza, Egypt, in 1971. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees (Hons.) in electrical engineering from Cairo University, Egypt, in 1993 and 1995, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the Systems and Control Division, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, USA.
Since 2012, he has been a Full Professor of automatic control with the Electrical Power Department, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, where he was the Director of the Integrated Digital Industrial Systems Laboratory, from 2012 to 2013. In August 2017, he was the Vice Dean for Community Service and Environment Development, then as the Dean since October 2019. He was an Executive Manager at ConTech, from 2000 to 2002, and since 2003, he is the General Manager at SysTech; both companies specialize in providing engineering services in automation. His research interests include applied nonlinear and adaptive control of renewable energy systems and electromechanical machines, process control, and control of time-delay systems.
