Biography
Hashim Hizam (Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical and electronic engineering from Polytechnic University, Brooklyn, NY, USA, in 1993 and 1994, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Queen’s University Belfast, U.K., in 2004. In 2004, he joined UPM as a Lecturer, where he is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. In UPM, he was the Head of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, from 2006 to 2011, and the Deputy Dean of academic, from March 2013 to June 2016. He has published more than 80 journal articles and has successfully supervised several master’s and Ph.D. students. His research interests include power system analysis, protection, and renewable energy.
