Biography
Farhat Fnaiech (M’85–SM’01) received the B.Sc.
degree in mechanical engineering, the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering, the Ph.D. degree in electrical
engineering, and the D.Sc. degree in physics (neural networks and signal processing) from the University of Tunis,
Tunis, Tunisia, in 1978, 1980, 1983, and 1999, respectively.
He is currently a Full Professor at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Ingénieurs de Tunis, Tunis, Tunisia, and the Head of the Laboratory of Signal Image and Energy Mastery. His main research interests include nonlinear adaptive signal processing, nonlinear control of power electronic devices, digital signal processing, image processing, intelligent techniques, and control. He has published more than 250 research papers in many journals and international conference proceedings.
Prof. Fnaiech is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics. He has served as the IEEE Chapter Committee Coordination Subcommittee Delegate of Africa Region 8 and Vice Chair of the IEEE Tunisia Section. He has been an AdCom Member of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society. He has been the General Chairman and Member of the international board committees of many international conferences.
